Borough Council Election Results 2015
Here are the results for the wards relevant to the SLRA area:
Bockhanger ward
The councillor for Bockhanger has hitherto been Michael Claughton (Con), who did not contest the seat, as he is retiring.
The new councillor elected is Luke Powell (Con), who won with a majority of 386. He secured 66.5% of the votes. The turnout was 62.15%.
In 2011, Michael Claughton won Bockhanger for the Conservatives with a majority of 199 and 50.7% of the votes; turnout was 44.3%.
In 2007, Michael Claughton won Bockhanger for the Conservatives with a majority of 245 and 62.1% of the votes; turnout was 35.4%.
In 2003, Noel Greaves won Bockhanger for the Conservatives with a majority of 115 and 59.8% of the votes; turnout was 32.2%.
Boughton Aluph and Eastwell ward
Winston Michael (Ashford Ind) retained his seat with a majority of 430. He secured 56.6% of the votes. The turnout was 65.52%.
In 2011, Winston Michael (Ashford Ind) won Boughton Aluph & Eastwell with a majority of 34 and 38.9% of the votes; turnout was 43.9%.
In 2007, Rita Hawes won Boughton Aluph & Eastwell for the Liberal Democrats with a majority of 309 and 69.5% of the votes; turnout was 39.8%.
In 2003, Rita Hawes won Boughton Aluph & Eastwell for the Liberal Democrats with a majority of 236 and 71.6% of the votes; turnout was 29.9%.
Downs West ward
The councillor for Downs West has hitherto been David Robey(Con), who did not contest the seat as he is moving out of the area.
The new councillor elected is Larry Krause (Con), who won with a majority of 462. He secured 67.4% of the votes. The turnout was 67.75%.
In 2011, David Robey won Downs West for the Conservatives with a majority of 176 and 49.0% of the votes; turnout was 49.7%.
In 2007, Neil Wallace won Downs West for the Conservatives with a majority of 318 and 67.0% of the votes; turnout was 37.9%.
In 2003, Neil Wallace won Downs West for the Conservatives with a majority of 170 and 56.9% of the votes; turnout was 38.2%.
Kennington ward
(not within the SLRA area, but adjacent to it)
In Kennington, Philip Sims retained the seat as a Conservative (he was previously an Ashford Independent). Philip Sims took 48.2% of the vote (46% in 2011).
