It is also with great sadness that we record the death of John Kemp MBE, Member of Ashford Borough Council for Kennington ward, who passed away on 11 November 2010.

PETER COATSWORTH
It is with great sadness that we record the passing of Peter Coatsworth on 6 November 2010. Peter was a greatly respected member of the SLRA Committee and worked diligently as Secretary of the Committee on behalf of members. He will be greatly missed.

Planning permission refused for erection of house to rear of
10 Sandyhurst Lane / Potters Close
Following objections from Sandyhurst Lane Residents' Association and a number of local residents, the application to build a four bedroom house in the back garden of 10 Sandyhurst Lane, with access via Potters Close, was refused by Ashford BC Planning committee on 15 September 2010. It was considered that the dwelling was too large for the site and that the proposed access had negative safety and convenience implications.
